NOTE: Preference shall be given to the Graduate of Government Institution. IMPORTANT NOTE: i) The candidates who had applied to PNC for Registration of their Diplomas or B.Sc. Nursing Generic on or before the closing date but; a) Registration Cards were issued after the closing date; or b) Registration cards have not been issued so far; Shall be Provisionally held eligible subject to the condition that such candidates shall have to produce documentary evidence properly stamped & signed by the Competent Authority of PNC that they have applied for such card on or before the closing date. ii) The candidates who had applied to PNC for renewal of their expired registration card after the closing date shall also be held eligible.

Note: i) Only Practical Experience after prescribed qualification shall be considered upto the closing date. ii) Experience in private entities shall be accepted if such entity is registered with SECP, Registrar of Firms or any other Regulatory Authority

SYLLABUS FOR WRITTEN EXAMINATION/ TEST (IF HELD)	A written examination comprising of the following Two papers will be conducted: Paper-I (Objective Type) 100 Marks 2 Hours Paper-II (Subjective Type) 100 Marks 3 Hours Total 200 Marks Psychological Test & Viva Voce 100 Marks Grand Total 300 Marks Paper-I (Objective Type) Total Marks:100 a) English Linguistics 30 Marks b) Urdu Linguistics 30 Marks c) Translation Studies 30 Marks d) Computer Skills 10 Marks Paper-II (Subjective Type) Total Marks:100 a) Translation of English Paragraph into Urdu b) Translation of a Legal Text into Urdu c) Translation of the legal terms into Urdu d) Knowledge of the theoretical background of translation. e) Translation processes and strategies. f) Knowledge of the technical terms of translation studies. NOTE: I) A candidate shall have to obtain 40% marks in each paper and 50% marks in the aggregate to qualify for interview. Thereafter, a candidate shall also secure 50% marks in the interview to be held eligible for final merit list of Successful candidates. ii) Negative marking shall be made and 0.25 marks shall be deducted for each incorrect answer in the MCQ papers. NUMBER OF CHANCES: Only three (03) chances are allowed to a candidate to appear in the examination of Chief Translator (BS-18)
